EG8.1: Safe location and access
Before setting up, the operator must check the ground, stability, traffic, weather, access, security and emergency exit.
Vehicles and trailers must be safely parked and stabilised where needed. Leads, hoses and steps must not create unmanaged trip or traffic hazards.
If the location is unsuitable, the operator must move or defer the appointment.

EG8.2: Vehicle structure and secured fit-out
Mobile units must be weatherproof, structurally sound and roadworthy, with required licensing and inspections current.
Tanks, cupboards and heavy equipment must be secured for travel and use. The loaded unit must remain within its lawful carrying limits.
Dogs must not occupy the grooming area while the unit is moving.

EG8.3: Power, gas and exhaust
The power supply, leads, connections and electrical protection must be suitable for the unit and its load.
A current Warrant of Electrical Fitness must be held where required for a connectable installation. Gas systems must meet relevant requirements.
Generators and combustion exhaust must be kept outside occupied spaces and away from openings. Fuel and gas cylinders must be secured and safely stored.

EG8.4: Fresh-water and wastewater capacity
The mobile unit must have enough fresh water and wastewater storage for the work planned between refill and disposal stops, or a suitable connection that has been checked.
Tanks and hoses must be maintained, clearly identifiable and protected from cross-contamination.
Wastewater must be taken to a lawful disposal point as required by EG5.2.

A mobile unit must have sufficient fresh water and contained wastewater capacity for planned work between refill and disposal opportunities, or a suitable verified connection. EG8.5: Environmental failure and lone working
The operator must check conditions inside the unit throughout use, including after changes in sun, weather or equipment use.
Work must stop if ventilation, temperature or essential supplies become unsafe.
A lone operator must have a practical way for help to be raised if they become unable to call for assistance. This may include communication, location-sharing or check-in arrangements.

A unit must not operate if ventilation, temperature or essential supplies become unsafe. The operator must provide any missing essential supplies or defer the appointment. Requirements that apply only to grooming vehicles may be recorded as Not Applicable.

A house-call operator using a client’s room or work area must verify safe access, containment, cleanable work surfaces, lighting, ventilation, water, electricity and wastewater arrangements before starting. People and resident animals must be kept clear of hazards. The operator must bring missing essential supplies or defer the appointment. Mobile vehicle-only clauses may be N/A for this model.
