Pets in the City Wairau Park is a proudly locally owned and operated dog daycare, hotel, grooming and training facility on Auckland’s North Shore, owned by Laura and Layamon Bakewell. Established in 2016, Wairau Park was the very first Pets in the City location and has grown alongside the brand over the past decade. Today, it is home to an experienced, long-standing team who know many of the dogs and families in our community incredibly well. We provide professional dog daycare, overnight accommodation, grooming and training, with a strong focus on safety, enrichment, socialisation and understanding the individual personality and needs of every dog entrusted to our care. For Laura and Layamon, Wairau Park will always be a special part of the Pets in the City story. What began as a single local dog care business has grown into a much larger network, while Wairau Park has retained the personal relationships, experienced team and genuine love of dogs that have been at its heart from the beginning.
